The Inspire East Excellence Framework is currently under development and will be available through this site soon.
The Excellence Framework is a practical web based tool which helps to define 'excellence' in sustainable communities in the East of England.
It will provide a set of standards to:
- help raise aspirations to improve the quality of development and regeneration in the region
- encourage sustainable communities practitioners to look holistically at quality of place.
The Framework is based on the eight components of a sustainable community. It allows you to assess the quality of a whole range of sustainable communities projects - urban and rural; built environment and community regeneration. The standards help you to develop excellent processes as well as high quality finished projects.
You can use the Excellence Framework in the following ways:
- as a signposting tool - directing you to the most appropriate sources of advice and information
- to look at case studies and best practice examples - from the East of England and beyond
- to obtain guidance in developing policies relating to all aspects of sustainable communities
- to appraise the quality of sustainable communities projects e.g. for external funding
- to evaluate the success of projects.
Inspire East will use the tool to:
- set standards and benchmarks for the Design Review and Enabling Services
- assess projects for awards and its case study database.
