This evaluation provides a unique insight into the development of Cambourne. The study combined a comprehensive literature review with interviews with over 50 stakeholders. The result is a series of practical lessons that can be applied in the planning and development of other new settlements across the region.
The findings were presented to a conference on 14 June 2007 at the University of Cambridge. The conference heard from Gary Young (the original masterplanner on Cambourne), Steve Platt (the author of Lessons from Cambourne) and a number of other speakers who addressed a range of issues surrounding Cambourne and the wider new settlement policy agenda.
