A shared vision: the regional economic strategy for the East of England represents the latest revision of the regional economic strategy for the region, which was originally produced in 1999 and revised in 2001. This document takes into account, policy initiatives, data and research that post-date the production of the 2001 strategy.

The regional economic strategy is informed by an extensive consultation process with regional and national partners, involving scenario planning workshops, two written consultation stages and a host of meetings and presentations across the region. Details of this process are set out in appendix I. A list of all of the organisations that have contributed to the development of this strategy is contained in appendix VI. This is a regional strategy. It is not about what any single organisation will do. The strategy can only be delivered by a range of organisations working in partnership. It is essential that organisations across the region work together to deliver the goals and priorities set out in this document.
