The REP aims to improve the quality, coordination and evidence of empowerment in the region.

It promotes better knowledge and understanding, learning from best practice to improve skills and change behaviours.  The Partnership supports and informs the Government to help implement its vision of a truly participative society and promote the fundamental role of empowerment in achieving a more equal, cohesive and democratic society.

An Action Plan has been developed which is jointly funded by the department of Communities and Local Government (CLG) and Improvement East.

The work of the Partnership is led by a Steering Group made up of Government agencies, local authorities and voluntary and community sector representatives.
